Practical Signal Processing
Short Course
14/16 May 2006
Cranfield University
Digital signal processing equipment is widely used by engineers and scientists in the investigation of environmental and engineering problems. The aim of this three day intensive short course is to provide a basic understanding of the techniques of signal processing with particular emphasis on the practical aspects of the subject.
Delegates will benefit from a careful balance of teaching and practical work. Workshop sessions will be held each day to illustrate techniques and avoidable pitfalls in analysis procedures.
The course allows ample opportunity for delegates to ask questions and exchange ideas with lecturers and fellow delegates. Comprehensive notes covering all the lectures will be provided and these serve as a valuable reference after the course.

CLIMATIC TESTING 20 – 22 February 2008 |
10 Jan 2008 |
This course provides a practical introduction to climatic testing and will cover general principles, test facility requirements and practical test procedures. Topics will include a general overview, the physical processes involved and their importance in relation to world climatic conditions. The design aspects of climatic test chambers will be covered in sufficient depth for the user to fully understand their proper operation and safety. An important part of equipment usage is the measurement, recording and control of the various parameters, with emphasis on calibration, accuracy, repeatability and uncertainty of measurement.

PRODUCT TESTING COURSES
The demand for engineering products that can withstand severe dynamic environments has led to a steady growth in the sophistication of test procedures. Increased reliability and performance are required of products ranging from consumer electronics to military hardware, and a demonstration of survival in a simulated environment is a requirement of many design specifications.
These 3 day courses will cater for engineers working in environmental test laboratories and those concerned with reliability and type approval testing, product development and screening. No prior knowledge of the subject is required and mathematics will be kept to a minimum. A balance of teaching and practical demonstrations will be presented by experienced engineers drawn from a wide variety of external organisations. The courses allow opportunities for delegates to ask questions and exchange ideas with lecturers and fellow delegates. Comprehensive notes will be provided.
